A few weeks ago, the coffee exchange wasn’t the normal and unremarkable one I’m used to. As it was handed to me, I was struck by the simplicity and strength of the marketing message on the coffee cup.
It got me thinking – what words would I choose to put on my cup?
And for you, what three words would you choose to sum up your personal focus or vision, or the culture you’d like your team to live by?
It’s also worth considering whether or not there are any stories that are getting in the way of this desired focus or culture?
Why not identify your three words and reinforce them positively and visually by displaying those words where you can see them during the day.
To help you start the process, think about what your goals or what your team mean to you at this point in time. Then think about what you want to achieve and how to get the best performance over an identified period of time.
If you’re doing this as a team, you need group consensus but individual commitment. Allow yourself to think and act differently so that you can get different results.
Based on my current focus and goals, my coffee cups’ words this quarter would be Performance, Power and Presence. What would yours be?
